DRAKOS SIDE

Maria "Billikas" Born in 1848 (changed her last name to Billikas which was her step father's last name after her father O Vasillis tou Thodori. Her mother re-married “Billikas” and had a boy with him whom they also called “Billikas” who was killed by lightning working at the wheatmill)

Her nickname was "Kalima"  which means good mother and a term that was used for grandmother. She died in 1953 when she was 105 years old. Kalima never met her parents and was raised by her grandmother and step-father Billikas.

She married when she was 12 years old to Kostandinos Drakos.

The common ancestor that the Drakos’ from Parparia have is Ioannis Drakos, Dimitrios Drakos and Vasilios Drakos. They were the parents of Konstandinos (1853), Mihail (1870) and Ioannis (1873).  We do not know if they were first or second cousins. We do not know if any of their relatives escaped from Chios during the holocaust. We do not even know (for now) if the name Drakos existed in Parparia before the holocaust.

Zolotas wrote that after the Holocaust, the town of Parparia had to be abandoned.  The survivors had to go to Volissos and after a few years returned with people from Volissos to re-start the town. According to one source, in 1827, there were about 30 or so people in Parparia.

At first I thought that Konstandinos Drakos (1853) had brothers. However Mihail Drakos (1870) and Ioannis Drakos (1873) all named their first sons differently.

Konstaninos Drakos (1853) named his first son after his father Ioannis (1882)

Mihail Drakos (1870) named his first son Dimitrios (1895) after his father.

Ioannis Drakos (1873) did not register any sons and his father was Vasilios.

PAPOULIS SIDE

Mihalis Papoulis had at least two boys named A) Theodoros and B) Ioannis. The 2 brothers were probably born in the 1830’s. Mihalis Papoulis was probably a 1822 Chios holocaust survivor and was a young boy when it happened. He is the common ancestor of all the Papoulis families of Parparia today. We do not know if any of his relatives escaped from Chios or if they were all killed. We do not even know (for now) if the name Papoulis existed in Parparia before the holocaust.

There is another Papoulis named Konstandino who had Steliano in 1892. I am not sure if he was cousin or another brother of Theodoros and Ioannis.  The first Papoulis name appears in 1859.

Zolotas wrote that after the Holocaust, the town of Parparia had to be abandoned.  The survivors had to go to Volissos and after a few years returned with people from Volissos to re-start the town. According to one source, in 1827, there were about 30 or so people in Parparia.

A) Theodoros Papoulis married a Stamatini and they had four children named:

1)   Mixalis Papoulis (1859)

2)      Maria

3)      Evgenia

4)      Ioannis  (born 1868)

B) Ioannis Papoulis married Maria and had:

1) Mixali “Gero Foustanas” (born1867) who married Maria Tsourougiannos  .

2) Giorgis “Gero Mastrogiorgis” (born 1873)

3) Dimitri “Gero Kondakas” (1879) who married Gero Gla- Gla’s daughter Sofia Potamousis.

4) Vasilios (1885)

The first child of THEODOROS tou Mixali PAPOULIS was

Mihalis Papoulis who got married to Kalliope Tsoucalas who had 3 children.

Those children were:
